are luxury skincare worth the money??

a quick glance through my local department store, and i notice that RM100 is never enough.

Nowadays, skincare is on the front, a whole level of the department store is dedicated to Luxury skincare, Guerlain, SK-ii, kose, chanel, dior, albion, shu uemura!.......

Where RM100 is enough to buy two or 3 bottles of skincare in Guardian, Watson, i wonder what Luxury skincare over the counter fare with affordable skincare.

Sure, where we go to departmental stores, the SA will hook you up lots of samples in hope that you will  be back to purchase a full size items.

i went to Sisley's counter, and sure enough, without purchasing anything, i went hope with a lot of stuff, from eye creams, black rose mask, and a lot of other mask. the sachets are 4ml each, and till today, i still treasure them as a most prized possession.

well, i guess we could talk about the service.

Some SA will give the judmental look, while the others will be very helpful.

So, are luxury skincare better??

I for one can't say much, as i do not have acne scars, pigmentation issues but i do have uneven skin tone, hence, i love to use brightening products and it seems that over the counter products are better.

Currently, my favourites are Sunday Riley CEO and Sunday Riley Good Genes.

i have tried this facial oil before, it is rich in the fermented essence (SK-II signature, squalene, jojoba oil, avocado oil, olive fruit oil, rice bran oil, glycerin.

SK-II repair C has significantly shorter ingredient list, including the potent galactomyces.

one of the highly raved product is genoptics, said to diminish scars and lightening them. Niacinamide is one of the key ingredient!

The Dior Le Nectar is one of the most expensive serums i have seen !!!
This is meant to use in the AM due to the inclusion of chemical suncreen.

i wonder what are the difference between the Ultime and Ultime Eye??? turns out there are a ton of different ingredients.

Shiseido came out with a Luxe line.

a new brand, similar to the salon brand Comfort Zone
Yep, i gave this to my mother as it is some anti aging creams
i have tried this before, it works very well with Valmont Prime Renewing Pack, this water is green in colour, upon contact with my skin, it is a very cooling, soothing feeling. it contains rose water, propylene glycol, calendula extract , witch hazel !
i think the swiss water made it all the difference!

Still, a very expensive price for a bottle of Toner.

as you can see, the ingredients are very special, with the inclusion of DNA (calcium, magnesium, sodium) which encourage cell turnover.

The best thing is it helps to cure my pimples by drying them out, it suck the dirt and impurities and oil out, and the 2nd night i put a very thin layer, the 3rd day when i wake up, the pimple will be gone.

If you can afford this cream, you can apply it as a mask or a moisturizer.

Your skin will be so bright and shiny, it looks like you have just gone through a facial.

Trust me!

One of the serums i dislike due to the strong smell, i do prefer Sunday Riley products. really can't accept the fake sugary smell of this product, too much fragrance is not good in skincare.

When i took a sniff at Sunday Riley good genes, i was like what in the World can something smell so horrid???? but i have gotten so used to it now, it's a must have in my skincare!

i heard origani is a scam....

Oh, this brand is from australia, i do suspect they are a scam!

walking into this shop is the best feeling, they have so many brands Sephora doesn't stock!!!!

LAMER

most celebrities, uber rich people uses this

it has a faint smell, their signature smell, and a tube of cream can cost RM1000++

1. Toosowoong Enzyme - pretty good and innovative concept, also, it last a really long time, it's been half a year and i suspect it can last another year.

2. Melvita Rose Serum-lotion - the texture is quite sticky, similar to an essence

3. Sulwhasoo clarifying mask 50 ml (sample) - too lazy to use this now, for brightening and clear complexion, i'm trying to finish my Dermalogica scrub with retinol and lactic acid that can give momentarily brightening properties

4. valmont prime renewing pack 15ml (sample) i love the way it feels on my skin, cooling & rejuvenating. Way too expensive to purchase. for now, i use it on my pimple spots, just a little dab and it will do wonders, it helps to dry the pimple, and then heal it fast

5. Neals Yard Remedies wild rose beauty balm 15ml (travel size) - this balm is quite weird because it is a beauty balm and that it can cleanse my skin, but i use it as a lip balm, still prefer Nuxe!

6. Nuxe 15ml Lip Balm - a tube like this last over a year, it is nourishing and thick enough, saves me the trouble of reapplying after every meal.

7.Aveda damage remedy - i use it on my split ends, nothing special
