BUDAPEST

I will start of by saying budapest is actually an affordable country, plenty to offer although not a tourist favourite.

I book a bus few months prior to visting budapest.

Vienna-Budapest

the bus air conditioning wasnt good and i nearly suffer from a heatstroke

the bus tickets are very cheap and affordable just below 20 euros.

1 MYR = 66.86802 HUF

on our way to budapest, our bus stops by Bratislava, Slovenia. Slovenia is a beautiful country.

I didn't venture out much, but was pretty excited that we are now in a different country, they were many produces and i picked up a box of cherries and they are indeed fresh and cheap.

on the way to budapest from vienna
the view from the bus. they have a screen attached to the seat just like in flights.
price is economical as well, about 15 euros, as for comfort, as long as there is air conditioning in this hot summer it is alright.

hungarian local food- langos. its a deep fried flavoured dough. we chose to have sour cream and cheese on top. which surely is overpowering. its not the best decision i have made.

PRO: quite a cheap street food
CON: very greasy and it definitely should be shared
a local buffet which is dirt cheap. had some 'variety' such as chicken and lots of carbs. food is mediocre and good for people to stop for lunch just to devour large amount of pizzas, pastas and their local soup. i drank a pinkish soup that taste so much like pomegranate.

some touristy attraction which i dont know what it is

of course, the view of danube river.
refreshing drink that combines lemon, mint....
historical place where prisoners (jewish) are forced to strip naked and shot. their bodies fell into the river. it's such a tragedy that is hard to absorb.

A bistro that we stumbled upon, and figured we would just dine here

an appetiser - pate.
beetroot seems to be very popular, so there's plenty of beetroot in every dish
hungarian goulash

PRO: healthy?
CONS: nothing special, just typical salmon you would find at any restaurants, and quite a small portion as well.
this is what i have ordered. the ubiquitous club sandwich. because carbs. and at that moment i dont

want to have fancy food that cannot satiate me.

Langos again, this time trying different flavours, but mind you, it is OILY!

one of the highlights of the trip which is instagrammable. NEW YORK CAFE. it used to be an insurance company on the first two floors and subsequent floors were accomodation for their employees. it was then consumed but a huge fire. it then became a venue for sports shop and tourism office in the 1950 but closed in 1990. lastly, it was reconstructed into a hotel.

every angle screams perfection but my phone does not do justice to it.

food is the last thing you want to think it the cafe. now, imagine going to a normal restaurant serving food as such, there wouldnt be such a huge crowd. so, people (Tourist and some locals) flock in just to get a glimpse of what is called the WORLD'S BEST CAFE. the food is overpriced and bland.
around 30 euros for both of these. maybe we should order tea and cakes to complement such perfect setting, sipping on teas and subconsciously think that we are royalties. LOL.

food served in a restaurant which no one frequents. SERIOUSLY. but we have to make do as we want to visit SZECHENYI THERMAL BATH HOUSE.
fish and chips which are OK. this leads me to question where are there no other customers coming into the restaurant.

Szechenyi Thermal Bath

this picture is truly disappointing. maybe it looks better in the day, maybe through all the editing it looks great. IDK. anyways, we entered around 8 and it closes at 10pm. after all the hassle of contemplating which package we should take, we got the cheapest one. which isnt entirely cheap, 12 or 13euros. also have to rent a bathing suit. yes, you read that right. it's like wearing other people's lingerie. but it was a good experience, i have been to thermal baths but this once does stand out due to its history and architecture.

before boarding our flights back to dublin, we spent the morning roaming around the streets. so having stumbled upon some bakeries and FOR THE LOVE OF PASTRIES, i just have to enter these bakeries. finally, i entered this shop to purchase some weird looking pastries. who cares, as long as they are savoury. on the first bite, its just FOODGASM and im just engulfed by its crispiness and unique taste.
PRO: its savoury, crispy and warm. and it feels like heaven by the first bite of it.
CON: nothing, dont mind paying extra for good pastry.
this is a little disappointing because i had it later. after taking the tube and bus rides, you know, it's just stale. lesson learnt, dont be greedy and just buy one.
lunch.

well, i love budapest the most amongst three cities, it triumphs over Prague and Vienna. mainly because of its laid back lifestyles and cheap food.
