HAIR Ritual by Sisley

I LOVE HAIR PRODUCTS!!!!!

more so, products with biotin which regenerate hair cells.

As a asian, i felt like my hair is pretty thin, and i have a a bald spot on the front because i always tie my hair up.

I love Sisley, it's a brand most people dont reach out to because

1. the effects are not immediate

2. pricey (really pricey in Malaysian Ringgit)

So, having tried a TON of Sisley's products, from their famous black rose mask, all types of other mask, Ecological compound, I'm elated that Sisley came out with their own range of hair care.

Look at that packaging ! LUXE

They focus on using Botanical ingredients
The packaging itslef is pretty awesome, a reusable box which has the words "give", whereas inside of it there is golden and silver plastics just to fill up the space and to prevent products from moving.

INGREDIENTS IN SHAMPOO

i love using paraben and sulfate free shampoo

however, im still on the mission to search for a perfect hair care routine to have silky, smooth, manageable and not porous hair.

WATER/EAU (AQUA) –  purified water.
SODIUM LAUROYL SARCOSINATE – derived from sarcosine, a natural amino acid found in the human body and just about every type of biological material from animals to plants. Honest’s sarcosine is made from coconut oil.
COCO-GLUCOSIDE – is a natural, non-ionic, surfactant. One of the most gentle of the cleansing agents, making it ideal for all foaming and cleansing products, especially those designed for fragile or sensitive skin.
COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE – is derived from Coconut and helps to create foam.
PEG-120 METHYL GLUCOSE TRIOLEATE – It is a diester of natural Methylglucose and Oleic Acid. It is used in beauty products and cosmetics as a surfactant and emulsifier. It is used as a thickener in hair and skin care products.
GLYCERIN – is a humectant, designed to bring moisture in and retain it. In hair products, glycerin works to draw moisture onto your hair and provides a barrier to keep the moisture locked in.
SODIUM COCOYL GLUTAMATE – is a mild vegetable-based surfactant (foaming ingredient) derived from from coconut or palm kernel oil and glucose from corn. It is recognized as a natural ingredient by the Natural Product Association and certified by Ecocert, the first certification body to develop standards for natural and organic.
PANTHENOL – a very popular ingredient for shampoos. It is celebrated for moisturizing, thickening and boosting hair’s body quotient.
PENTYLENE GLYCOL – is commonly used as a skin conditioning agent, due to its ability to help the skin attract and retain moisture. As such, it falls into a category of skin care ingredients called humectants.
Other ingredients in this group also include honey or aloe vera.
it also has some anti microbial properties, which can make it a valuable addition to the formula.
FRAGRANCE (PARFUM) – The scent of the formula, including the last 2 ingredients in the INCI formula.
ARGININE – This amino acid, which is produced by our body too, helps relaxing the blood vessels and improves the flow of blood to the scalp and the base of hair, fighting hair loss.
BISABOLOL – The primary component of the essential oil extracted from chamomile. It can effectively stimulate and promote the skin’s healing process and encourage healthy hair growth.
MACADAMIA INTEGRIFOLIA SEED OIL – Oil from edible macadamia nuts. It functions as a skin conditioning and emollient agent.
MORINGA OLEIFERA SEED OIL – comes from the seeds of Moringa Oleifera Tree. This fresh smelling oil has been known as a natural hair cleanser for ages. It moisturizes the scalp, fights the aging mechanism and help you gain stronger hair. It strengthens your hair by delivering important minerals and vitamins to the hair follicles.
PYRIDOXINE HCL – is a form of vitamin B6 that helps keep your hair strong.
BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER – This is the well known Shea Butter. It helps moisture and fights aging.
TOCOPHERYL ACETATE – also known as Vitamin E acetate. It can penetrate through the skin to the living cells, where about 5% is converted to free tocopherol and provides beneficial antioxidant effects
MAGNESIUM ASPARTATE – is believed to be a mineral transporter to metabolizing cells, aiding in the metabolic process by replenishing vital electrolytes thereby contributing to efficient energy production.
ZINC GLUCONATE – is a Zinc compound often added to dandruff shampoos to help reduce shedding
HYDROLIZED COTTONSEED PROTEIN – it is a hair conditioning-agent derived from the Cotton
PALMITOYL MYRISTYL SERINATE – it is also a hair conditioning-agent
COPPER GLUCONATE – Also known simply as copper, this mineral is an important trace element for human nutrition. The body needs copper to absorb and use iron, and copper is also a component of the powerful antioxidant enzyme superoxide dismutase. Copper gluconate is a potentially exciting anti-aging ingredient.
BIOTIN – is a water-soluble B-vitamin, also called vitamin B7 and formerly known as vitamin H. This ingredient is known to fight hair loss and maintain your hair strong and healthy.
PEG-18 GLYCERYL OLEATE/COCOATE – This is generally used as a stabilizer and a thickener. Often we considered it as well as a Skin-Conditioning Agent because of its emollient, surfactant and emulsifying agent role.
CITRIC ACID – It has two main roles. The first is to adjust the pH of the shampoo so it matches well with the hair. If the shampoo is to acidic for example, the scales of the hair will lay flat and the result will be poor. It also has a preservation action, preventing any bacterial development.
SODIUM CHLORIDE – it is used as a thickener in low quantities, that is why it ends up so low in the list.
POLYQUATERNIUM-22 – it is a film forming and great hair fixative. It can help delivering the formula to the hair, therefore an interesting ingredient for a shampoo.
PEG-8 – Sulfactant and emulsifying agent, helping in the balance of the formula
PROPANEDIOL – derived from Corn, it is also called propylene glycol. It is a preservative quite well known in the skincare industry.
STYRENE/ACRYLATES COPOLYMER – it is a film former for improved hair surface luster.
POLYQUATERNIUM-47 – it is a film former and facilitates moisture to the hair.
DISODIUM EDTA – it helps preserving the product once it is open. It enhances foaming which is an interesting aspect for shampoos.
PEG-8/SMDI COPOLYMER – it has skin emollient and conditioning activities.
TRETASODIUM EDTA – is a chelating agent, used to sequester and decrease the reactivity of metal ions that may be present in a product so it will not be deposit in the hair.
TRISODIUM PHOSPHATE – it is used as a cleaning agent, lubricant and degreaser. It is an interesting ingredient to have in low quantities as it helps the balance of a shampoo formula.
SODIUM POLYACRYLATE – it is a formula thickener and has the ability to absorbe around 200 times its weight in water.
SODIUM HYDROXIDE – it is present in shampoo formulas in order to balance the formula pH.
PHENOXETHANOL – it is the new star in cosmetics and skincare in general. It is a great alternative to Parabens as a preservative.
SODIUM BENZOATE – found naturally in cranberries, prunes, plums, cinnamon or in apples, it is used as a preservative in cosmetics.
BENZOIC ACID – it is also a preservative and helps the incorporation of fragrance into a beauty product.
POTASSIUM SORBATE – this is also a preservative, protecting the formula, especially once the product is opened.
LIMONENE is listed in the INCI formula as a potential allergen to some people. It is generally present in the fragrance formula that is added to the shampoo. Legislations requires the labelling of this ingredient in order to help people sensitive to it to be aware. This same legislation orders a certain limit in terms of used quantity.
CITRAL – Same as Limonene.

My review on the hair mask

I have been using it for a few months now, right after i shampoo my hair, i apply a pea size amount, rub it into the ends of my hair.

It is a lovely, fragrant, invigotating scent!

Nevertheless, there is only so much a hair mask can do. You need to up your routine by having exfoliating your scalp before shampoo, then conditioner only for roots of hair.

As for masking, once in awhile.

Always use a heat protector when blow-drying your hair.

I feel like i do need to invest in a good hairdryer that has ions.

Dyson, GHD, Panasonic...

Pros: leaves my hair smooth and has a nice smell

Cons: doesn't tackle hairfall, brittle hair issues & expensive
