day 4- vatican city & rome

ROME

they said rome is not built in one day

We understood that there are many ancient buildings and relics left from centuries ago

Rome itself has two dimensions, modern and ancient

it's christmas season, all the stores are filled with quirky designs

breakfast spread full of honey

loving frothy milk and a really thick hot chocolate to start the day, its hard to go on diet in italy

meanwhile, some architectural designs taken using wide angle lens

the intricate design patterns are just so amazing, full of history and a sight to behold

saint peter basilica is one of the most visited places by tourist and locals alike.

The church is really huge and you can just spend a few hours in here to understand the history and admire the designs while some may choose to have a prayer and reflection

admissions are free, but shall you want an audio guide and to skip lines, you have to pay a fee

Colesseum

The Colessuem is like an amphitheater which is pretty brutal as it was used as an entertainment centre last time.

I did not pay for the entrance as i think it it isnt worth it to pay 20 euros just for a few photos.

also, we were short of time and wanted to wander around the area

everything is interesting when you paid for a flight and i just dont want to miss anything interesting

colosseum in all its former glory, do you know this used to be a battleground and entertainment for the royals

everything looks great under the sun, the reflections and shadows adds depth to the ruins

historic buildings are all over italy

all four walls are build really high up, and i gazed at the interiors like a small kid, it is so beautiful

alright, time for food

complimentary bread is always served in restaurants, choose from a variety of dips, balsamic vinegar...

seafood risotto is often cooked using fish stock/clam stock, arborio rice, and a medley of seafood

usually, the store owner loves to introduce a variety of wines as they will try to earn as much as they can

do order the menu of the day as you will save money and also get appetizers, main course and dessert

of course, no sharing is allowed, each person has to order one set

Trevi fountain, you can spot plenty  of coins and it is a really interesting place

also  a respite from the hot weather

plenty of restaurants and their decors are often trees and vines to give them a rustic feel

marvis toothpaste, a national pride

sideview of trevi fountain, because the amount of people hanging out here is quite frightening

many carousels are spotted at the market, plaza

many types of skincare sold, darphin is a really famous brand

the beautiful streets are now fully lit

Gelatos are spotted all over the streets, just choose whichever you like

even mcd is a tourist spot here

another crowd favourite, pizzas

My first visit to Rinasante, luxury department store in Italy

Overall, do give a visit to Rome as you will not be disappointed. Wandering in the streets gave me a feeling of elation and left me in awe of the wonders of the world. I do feel like i have been transported back to ancient times yet i have been blessed with the innovations of today.
